Israel supporters keep sticking it in the finger trap
HR 867 (see link) is quite simply a terrible bill. Some version of it is always introduced in every session of Congress and it usually is an attempt by Pro-Israel members to establish their bona fides even if it doesn't pass. It attempts to penalise participation in anti-Israel boycotts. Some are saying that it doesn't really matter because this bill will only restrict participation in international org or foreign state sponsored boycott efforts, not private ones. But then what is the point? Boycotting is largely a passive stance where one states that they are not patronising a certain store or category of business. People who continue to act out of spite without a regard to logic will only create more resentment.
